Character education involves teaching basic human values-respect, fairness, honesty, caring as well as working to increase instances of students exhibiting responsibility, cooperation, self-discipline, perseverance, in their own everyday lives and recognizing the same in others.  These lessons can be woven into all areas of instruction, from guidance, to reading and writing.
